About the Conference

The Brain Informatics (BI) conference series has established itself as the world's premier research forum on Brain Informatics, which is an emerging interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research field with joint efforts from neuroscience, cognitive science, medicine and life sciences, data science, artificial intelligence, neuroimaging technologies, and information and communication technologies.

The 14th International Conference on Brain Informatics (BI2021) provides a premier international forum to bring together researchers and practitioners from diverse fields for presentation of original research results, as well as exchange and dissemination of innovative and practical development experiences on Brain Informatics research, brain-inspired technologies and brain/mental health applications.

The theme of BI2021 is: Innovative Computational Approaches for Understanding Brain Functions and Treat its Disorders.

The BI2021 solicits high-quality original research and application papers (both full paper and abstract submissions). Relevant topics include but are not limited to:



Paper & Abstract Submission

  • Paper Submission :
    1. Full paper submissions should be limited to a maximum of 10 pages including figures and references. Additional pages will be charged.
    2. High quality paper submissions with up to 6 pages are also welcome and will be accepted as short papers based on their originality, significance of contribution to the field, technical merit, and presentation quality.
  • Abstract Submission: Authors are encouraged to submit research abstracts of their original work. Research abstracts will be accepted for presentations in an oral presentation format and/or poster presentation format. Authors can indicate their presentation preferences during online submission. Abstracts accepted for oral presentation will be given an option to also be considered for a poster presentation for more demonstrations and discussions. Each abstract submission should include the title of the paper, an abstract body within 500 words , and up to 5 keywords. Abstract presentations are scheduled at the sole discretion of the BI Program Committee.
  • Journal Opportunities: High quality BI conference papers may be nominated to submit an extended version for a fast track review and publication at the Brain Informatics Journal, an international, peer-reviewed, interdisciplinary open-access journal published by Springer.
  • Special Issues & Books: Workshop/special session organizers and BI conference session chairs may consider and can be invited to prepare a book proposal of special topics for possible book publication in the Springer-Nature Brain Informatics & Health Book Series, or a special issue at the Brain Informatics Journal.

  • Paper Format: All paper submissions MUST follow Springer LNCS Proceedings format.
